Our Experience
Our experience is primarily in acting for two categories of client:
High-earning professionals or their families, often City-based, where the dominant financial feature is income and assessment of maintenance payments and the main asset is frequently the family home;
High net worth, often high profile, individuals, or their families, where the main financial issue is division of capital on a clean-break basis.
Many of these cases have involved ground-breaking decisions by the courts and have been featured in the Law Reports or in newspaper headlines.
As relationships are changing fast in our increasingly diverse society we have also dealt with cases involving the overlap of English, international and also Islamic law. We are currently engaged on a number of complex cohabitation claims, we encourage the writing of pre-nuptial agreements and Ayesha Vardag has lectured on the law involved in the new civil partnerships.
